The next biggest rap star out of New York. With two platinum tracks in his resume: Drowning and My Shit, many people have been waiting for him to drop debut album. On September 29, 2017 he released his debut album “The Bigger Artist”. He is a ascending star in the hip hop industry at the young age of twenty one. The artist’s name is Julius Dubose, famously known by his stage known A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is a hip hop artist from the Bronx, New York. A Boogie started rapping when he was twelve years old. At this age he began writing lyrics and rhymes in a notebook he carried around. The musical talents of Kanye West and 50 Cent developed a passion towards music for A Boogie. He then left the Bronx and moved to Florida with his family, hoping, to gain a lifestyle that had a better opportunity for their family. A Boogie later graduated high school in Florida and then went on to attend college, but had no major interest in it. He dropped out and began pushing his music career. He had a rough beginning after dropping out. He did not have connections in the music industry and this did not allow him to use music studios freely. The track generates a solid start to the album. He speaks on a tragic death of a fan in the track. She was killed in a concert he performed at. “Savannah just wanted to see me perform and got hit over stupid shit/I woke up and saw the shit right on my phone, they don’t know who the shooter is”. He then goes in to speak about his lifestyle and the life choices he makes around him that effects the people around him. “ I can’t make no f*****g promises…I treated them bad, I wouldn’t be mad if I was to get treated the same way/So treat me the same way,”.
