Ray Bradbury uses entertainment’s effects of numbing and disorientating as a way to show imagery on page 45 in Fahrenheit 451. As Montag finished watching the dialogue among characters on the three screen wall, Montag heard the immense sound which sounded like “A great thunderstorm of sound” (45). Bradbury uses this description of sound to resemble the strength of the sound that was being played all around, as well as music being sung or played by a band or choir Montag. It also gives the image of thunder and it’s vast sound when it rumbles in the sky.
