Summer Heights High is a mockumentary show, directed by Chris Lilly. It was filmed in a Brighton Secondary College in Australia, aired on Australia’s ABC TV in September 2007. It’s played by three main characters over the course of a term: Jonah, Jamie and Mr. G. These characters are stereotyped to create funny content of themselves to encourage people not to behave that way. It labels the inappropriate content of words, used by a number of swearing and bullying that was nevertheless to make fun their behavior.
The way in which Australian comedy is regarded, understood, or interpreted can dramatically affect the overall consensus of what it may imply. Australian comedy walks the line of this, you either love it, or you hate it. This is evident in the public’s overall positive responses to Chris Lilley’s mini mockumentary series, “Summer Heights High” & “Jonah from Tonga” which portrays Australian comedy as to have the ability to find humour in each other’s flaws, often more shocking and confronting than initially expected. Resulting in a fan base that can relate themselves to characters such as “Jonah Takaluwa” and possibly find comfort and closure, Chris Lilly stated in an interview with The Daily Telegraph “I’ve never had any negative feedback”,” I have all the time come up and claim that they’re Jonah”, “It’s all in context and it’s designed to be shocking and confronting/”
In the short story ¨The in Group,¨ an unpopular girl in the eighth grade by the name of Eve is challenged, resulting in added pressure and meager judgement. To begin, Eve attends a small school where very few people fit in, but everyone clandestinely seeks popularity. She tells her school classmates about how she remembers the sun and they start to bully her because they are jealous. The author uses a lot of description, symbolism, and similes to show the desire of the kids to see the sun.
Peer pressure influence teenagers to drink because many teens feel like they won 't fit in with their friends if they don 't do it .I think that Laurie Halse Anderson, the author of “Speak” , is saying that something bad can happen if you get peer pressured into do something bad. In the book, Melinda Sordino is influenced by peer pressure to drink alcohol because one of her friends is telling her to drink at a party . (Halse). I experienced peer pressure one time to drink, but I didn’t want to because something bad would happen.

In life we can all relate to the feeling of longing for something. In All Summer in a Day, Ray Bradbury’s characters’ lives are clouded with rain and the only see the sun once every seven years. Bradbury uses metaphors, emotions, and repetition to express the sun’s meaning of hope to the main character, Margot, and the children of rocket men and women on Venus. Metaphors and emotions are used to help the reader relate to the connection with the sun. He describes the sun and the rain using metaphors, and uses the children’s emotions to help further the idea.

In Ray Bradbury’s “All Summer in a Day,” Margot, a student from Earth who has moved to Venus, is being mistreated because of her thoughts about the sun. Because Margot’s peers have only seen rain their entire lives, they do not understand the sun in the same way Margot does. In “All Summer in a Day” we learn that we should not mistreat others because of the way they think, look, or act — doing so causes hurt or bitterness.
The short story All Summer In A Day by Ray Bradbury teaches us about how jealousy can lead people to do evil things. Margot has come to planet Venus only five years ago from Earth, so the kids hated her so much because she remembers the feeling. She remembered the sun that's what the kids despised most about her. Margot thinks the sun is like a flower. Margot also said it's like a penny, bright yellow and bronze.

Once you experience something of such great significance, it is hard to let that go and move on. This universal theme can be seen in both the song “Want You Back” by 5 Seconds of Summer, and the short story “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury. In “Want You Back” the band sings about a girl who they have left and will always want back. In “All Summer in a Day” the author tells about about students on Venus, who are in absence of the sun, and are grieving the loss of it too. In both of these selections, the band and the author uses imagery and repetition to convey the theme.
The fictional story All Summer in a Day by Ray Bradbury is about reverse elitism and reveals that instead of praising those who are superior, they are discriminated as a result of jealousy. This is evident when Margot's classmate, William, abuses her because "she remembered the sun ... when she was four in Ohio" (Bradbury, 2) while everyone else was only two in Venus. In the story, William pushes Margot twice and speaks as if Margot was inhuman. For instance, William commands Margot to "[speak] when [you are] spoken to" and "[get] way" (Bradbury, 2).
