Largely known for his more popular books, such as Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles, Ray Bradbury is a widely celebrated author in the 20th and 21st century. He was highly appreciated in 2012 after his death, The New York Times even stating how he is most responsible for bringing modern science fiction into literary mainstream. (The New York Times, 2012) Ray Bradbury was born on August 22, 1920 in Illinios, to a Swedish immigrant named Esther Bradbury. His middle name was Douglas, after the actor Douglas Fairbanks.
Summary In the analysis, “Write For Your Life,” Anna Quindlen’s thesis is that in the movie “Freedom Writers,” and in our everyday life, physical writing is a necessary form of therapy and release. Quindlen describes the movie and then points out specific lines that express the situation of the children. She continues by explaining how physical writing is important to our wellbeing but how it has disappeared from our lives.

People can be good at many things, and sometimes they are the best at those things. I believe that Ray Bradbury, focused on multiple craft moves in The Veldt such as dialogue, personification, and flashbacks to show that he can be one of the best, when it comes to adding craft moves into his writing. He made the writing more interesting and described and showed the moments in different ways. He also used many different craft moves throughout the story, but I think that these three, dialogue, personification, and flashbacks are the most important, and I believe that without these craft moves the story wouldn’t have as big of an impact on the reader as it did with them. Ray Bradbury used dialogue to show how the characters are feeling at that exact moment, and is shown throughout the story to show interactions between characters in that moment in time.
Roald Dahl and Ray Bradbury have a lot of similarities. Both authors are very similar because they both like fiction and a different style than other authors and poets. They also write a lot of children’s books. Some of those books are the same genre too. They both write for children and adults, even though you might have not heard of the adult books they make.

In this letter, Lewes will encourage the young woman to chase after her dream of being a writer and the different challenges she’s going to have to face on being an up and coming writer. Bradbury believes that technology is a benefactor when it comes to the aid of people’s lives. However, Bradbury is also wary of the unintentional hazards technological innovation may cause, and fears technology that seems to replace human responsibility. Bradbury sums up his doubts, stating that technology should never come at the expense of human life. These ideologies are displayed throughout the following short stories: “The Veldt,” “There Will Come Soft Rains,” and “A Sound of Thunder.” Each story contains the underlying theme that technology must be wielded with great care.
I am now able to see the areas in which I lack in but I also recognize my strengths as well. To become a precise writer, you have to take the initiatives that will help you do so. These initiatives consist of working on different academic genres, planning and organizing material, identifying purpose and audience and for revising intentionally. It is also includes reading different types of texts and learning how to understand a writer’s argument and respond to the ideas of others.
