Imaginary, magical films seen as “fairy tales” have brought us excitement and wonders for us to this day. With over 1,000 films published, Walt Disney stating “Laughter being timeless, imagination having no age, and dreams going on forever” allows us to see everything in a positive way. In the film “Aladdin” Disney makes us use our imagination through a magical lamp and a magic carpet that are being used to turn street rat Aladdin into a handsome prince. There are many favorites I had as a child with Disney, more specifically princess movies. Although my favorite was princess “Belle” from the movie “Beauty and the Beast” I always found the story of Aladdin and Princess Jasmine to be much more interesting. The princess did not seem too convinced by him until one night Aladdin finally decided to make his move into conquering her with an adventure on his magic carpet. Stuttering he asked her “You don’t… you don’t wanna go for a ride, do you? We could get out go the palace, see the world, Do you trust me”. (Disney, 1992) “Do you trust me” the line he had originally said when they had first met in the market. (Disney, 1992) This opening the princess’s eyes to see that prince “Ali” was no prince. At this point, knowing that he was not a prince she knew for a fact that this time she really did need to let her heart decide. She agreed on to his offer and turned her way of seeing the world to a whole new view. The lies he made to the princess are understandable because he knew that he had no other chance in talking to her once again. In his point of view Jasmine would never even look at him if she knew the real him. Which in this case gives us a perfect understanding of the fact that we should never assume that about someone, putting things into a conclusion. What Aladdin did was wrong changing himself to think that would make him better. In her eyes, he was the best, she didn 't want no prince she wanted Aladdin. Aladdin and Jasmine were together and nothing was able to separate them. He became a real prince by marrying the most amazing beautiful girl he saw in his eyes. His last wish was to set his best friend free, the genie. This Disney film allows not only children, but also adults that we should never have to change anything about ourselves in order to impress another or even others. Yes there are rules, but in some situations like these we should always be taking risks. Despising others because of their appearance or wealth is wrong.
