In the early 1910’s a book published by Edmund Bunk Huey titled The Psychology and Pedagogy of Reading, aid in influencing research in the subject of reading. Exploration of reading, additionally led to research in phonics and state standardized testing (Sears, 2006). In addition, World War I sparked attention to the severity of reading comprehension in the homes of Americans. The war incited the exposure that a colossal number of U. S. officers couldn 't read all around alright to take after printed bearings (Sear, 2006).
