In reading “Ready Player One,” written by Ernest Cole the science fiction novel had engaged me as a reader. This novel is based off of the near future year of 2044 that this narrator see’s the future to be. In that time frame their had been an exhaustion of our fossil fuels we have here on earth. As we read I get a sense of global scarcity and a massive increase of urban sprawl occurring in that time period. I find while reading the theme of this novel to be something that intrigues me as the reader.

In this specific time frame there is a massive multiplayer online virtual reality computer simulation. This simulation can easily consume much of the human investment as well as attention. Oasis is the game well known in that specific time frame. The creator of this virtual game was known as James Halliday, but he had died earlier then at the given time. In the announcement of his death his video had been released. This film had information upon his fortune he had and the ownership of Oasis. This fortune he had was to be given to the first individual to find the easter egg that had been hidden behind a sequence of three gates. This was all done in order to acquire clues and get a understanding as to where the keys were to unlock the gates to find the location of the egg. A user known as IOI is in search for the specific egg hidden in hope of taking control of Oasis, and outcome must hunters find frightening.
