Unit 3 Real Synthesis Essay

Across the United States, we are blessed with state and national parks which are available for our enjoyment. These parks offer individuals a place to explore, enjoy the beauty of nature, make meaningful memories, and exercise, which is why national parks were established and why they are being preserved. There are many ways in which nature is beneficial to us, whether it’s simply a place to relax or a place to test your limits as you hike for miles enjoying the great outdoors. National and state parks are important to not only humans but also animals. Many of these parks are natural habitats and environments in which a vast number of species inhabit. According to the yearsproject.com, “The easiest way to help fight climate change is to recycle… use recycled material notebooks” or even using reusable coffee cups can help the cause. The Years Project also recommends that students get involved in campus campaigns such as ZeroHour, and Extinction Rebellion, which Gardner-Webb can partner with to make a difference! By this, you can see that there are many simple ways to join the effort, we just need to advertise the opportunities and educate students on how they can get involved. I explained what I thought was a strong proposal and then argued the reasons it is important to tackle action and why it directly applies to Gardner-Webb. I took the risk of questioning Gardner-Webb University in my conclusion. I asked “Does Gardner-Webb University care about preserving history? Does Gardner-Webb care about animals? Does Gardner-Webb care about the community? Does Gardner-Webb care about the well-being of its students?” to put Gardner-Webb on the spot. In my work, I made a clear and specific proposal as to what Gardner-Webb should do by saying “Gardner-Webb University should invite speakers from local state parks and National Parks to come and share about the purpose of parks and ways we can protect them. Gardner-Webb Unversity should put up flyers on every board on campus about park service opportunities for conservation. The University should also set aside a specific portion of funding to promote the conservation efforts for the parks. During the freshman student orientation days at the start of each semester, the school should have a lecture on how students can properly protect the environment and participate in sustaining the nature around them. It would also be beneficial to have a speaker on this matter share at least one dimension session throughout each semester”. I argued that this
