Reality Television (TV), first aired in 1948, is claimed to be an unscripted programme, that functions by using individuals that lead customary lives as characters, in replacement of thespians. Although it is claimed that reality TV is unscripted, we can distinguish that certain segments have been modified. These segments may have been modified to fabricate the show into being further entertaining. Reality TV has metamorphosed to be indubitably popular among viewers, since its first release. Entertainment, and messages conveyed, are two purposes of reality TV. Reality TV is appealing to viewers due to voyeurism. Reality TV is entertaining due to a multitude of reasons. Reality TV does not employ experienced thespians, rather, reality TV aims towards standard individuals, allowing them a chance to be known. The initial plot is not scripted, therefore, the spectacle would play out according to the behaviour of the characters. Reality TV is entertaining pursuant to the connection the viewers may feel. The characters in these shows, are standard individuals, much like the viewers; so the viewers would feel as ‘part of the action’ due to the similarity between character and viewer. When watching movies, they are few chances for viewers to relate, as there is a highly unlikely probability, for the movie plot to ensue in verisimilitude. Individuals possess curiosity.
