Although people have heard that the attack on Pearl Harbor is just a horrifying surprise to America, no one exactly knows exactly what happened that day. Then two days later on July 1941, Great Britain and the Netherlands stopped oil trade to Japan for a treaty to Russia who was enemies to the British and the Netherlands during the war. The reason for this was so that the Japaneses Navy And Air Force would cripple and later become useless. As the soviets saw that they were almost in defeat towards the end of 1941, this was the perfect chance for Japan to take a quick strike on one of the enemies allies. Chuichi Nagumo sent in two waves of bombing planes with a total of 353 planes attacking the naval bases. The Manhattan project was an experiment on creating the most strongest bomb in the time, a nuclear bomb. The first nuclear bomb was named by president Roosevelt called “Little Boy”. It was the first bomb to be detonated over a Japanese city. The second bomb in development was named “Fat Man”, the reason for this is because of its size and power. This was the last bomb detonated over Japan. The two bombing runs over Japan also helped end World War II because America basically knocked out Germany and the Russians powers.
