“This newly autonomous Africa faces massive challenges, including extreme poverty, illness, desertification, malnutrition and the awful toll taken by ongoing regional conflict. It has been a long hard struggle. And as good neighbors, the global community is there to help.” This quote is talking about some common issues in Africa which other communities are helping solve. This seems important with the fact that other places are realizing what is going on around the world, but also that they see ways to change an environment.

A concerning issue is how quickly Africa is growing with populations! Now, some communities are helping, but it isn’t enough with the speed of growth that Africa is going through. If there were groups in Africa that taught them how to be “responsible”, maybe there wouldn’t be as many issue with overpopulation, food shortages, little water, and multiple other things. Although you can go up to every person and tell them the dangers of overpopulation, they may not change due to the fact that they are near to that state. …show more content…

Even though Mandela had many struggles, which included being arrested, taken to court while being accused of murder, being banned from your own home, and many other things, he pushed through to be able to help the people of Africa. Mandela’s strategies to help Africa included protesting, showing up at public performances/events to give speeches, and marching to be able to peacefully “grab” the attention of the government. He also had said once before, that if those strategies did not work, he would resort to other methods, but everyone took that in the wrong way and thought he had become a terrorist or already
