Is Pandora To Blame?
Many people believe that all the evil released in the world was entirely Pandora’s fault. It’s been the case for all mythology women ruin the world in one way or another. From Tuoni of Finland mythology to Eve from The Bible (Duisen). Greek mythology followed this idea, and the blame was on a girl named Pandora. Yet most don’t consider that Pandora was set up for failure since she was born.

First of all, Zeus was the one who had the true intention of releasing evil. In a way, he didn’t want the blame on him for his anger towards Prometheus. So he sculpted this idea to create a woman for his brother and release evils upon humans to get revenge on Prometheus. Take a look at Anastasia Tremaine of the classic Cinderella story. Born as an antagonist due to her mother’s manipulation, she quickly fixed her life and personality (“Anastasia”). Now she isn’t blamed for the struggles that Cinderella went through. In a way, this correlates with Pandora and begs the question, if she hadn’t gone through the manipulation Zeus placed on her, would she have done this? …show more content…

Epimetheus was informed never to accept gifts from Zeus from his brother, yet he took Pandora as a gift (“Pandora”). Pandora showed great curiosity in the box, and Epimetheus knew this. But Epimetheus never removed the box from her sight. Thus, Epimetheus left their home, and Pandora opened the box since no one convinced her otherwise. Pandora should’ve never been accepted as a gift as Epimetheus was warned of Zeus’ hatred towards his brother and how he may want revenge
