The Holocaust was a terrible tragedy which consisted of the deaths of 6 million Jews. It started in 1933 and ended May 8th 1945. A man named Adolf Hitler decided that Jews were an unclean, unworthy race. He “relocated” the Jews to concentration camps and when there were too many to keep in the camps he either shot them or put them in the gas ovens. The American government decided that it wasn’t our place or fight and therefor hid it from the public.
The Holocaust was a genocide in which Adolf Hitler, ruler of the Nazi party, and his associates conducted the mass murder of over six million Jews. Nazi Germany under the dictatorship of Adolf Hitler was responsible for the brutal, inhuman slaughter of the Jews from 1933 to 1945. Many German civilians were ashamed of the callous, blasé and insensitive killings led by their own ruler and therefore deny any knowledge of the events of the Holocaust. Their claims to be unaware of the events of the Holocaust are not valid and are only used as a shield for their pride and dignity. Adolf Hitler and the Nazis believed that the Germans were the ‘perfect race’ and all other races were deemed ‘inferior’.
The Holocaust was a time in history that was very very difficult. Hitler who was the leader of Germany, had much hatred towards Jewish people, because of this hatred, he acted very negatively towards the Jews. Lots of the time people don't understand how bad it actually was for Jewish people. Hitlers acts of hatred were so bad and harmful to the Jews. Hitlers goal was to rule the world and he did not want anyone that he did not like in his way, so he tried getting rid of them all.

The Holocaust, a genocide in which approximately six million Jews were killed by Adolf Hitler 's Nazi regime. The Holocaust did not happen overnight instead it occurred through years of discrimination, segregation, and violence against the Jews in Germany. Hitler first wanted the Jews to emigrate, then they were put into Ghettos, then Concentration camps, and last Extermination camps. Similar to the first World War, World War II was a dispute between powers and or countries and involved the death of million of civilians and militants of those disputing countries. There are many events that have made World War II significant and i will show you in this essay. World War II started basically because of one of the most known killer in the world Adolf Hitler. His role in the Holocaust is greatly significant because of the way that he punished, treated, and through of jews using concentration camps. In concentration camps jews were gassed, imprisoned and forced to do things that they didn't want to like forced labor.
The Holocaust was an execution of 8 million Europeans, and “ 6 million of the Europeans killed were Jewish women, children, and men that were brutally murdered” (Strahinich 7). It “was a catastrophe in our modern history” (Strahinich 7) now staining our history pages with hundreds of innocent people’s blood, forever lost in the grounds of the Holocaust. It took “place in Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, Latvia, and Czechoslovakia” (Altman 9) is some of the places where hundreds died. Thanks to “Adolf Hitler” (Strahinich 8) and “the Nazis government” (Strahinich 10), they “plunged most of Europe” (Allen 7) into turmoil, taking lives that did not need to go.
The main components to the American holocaust response were debates, protests, news, and the community. At first, America had no idea about what was going on in Europe, thus why the reaction was so great. Even though Some catholic Americans did agree with Hitler, thinking jews were evil, the holocaust seemed terrible for America. America had no idea about the thousands dying, and the hundreds of previous European jews now living in America, thinking about their relatives and family. Also, America hadn 't ever heard or seen of anything as bad as the holocaust, other than World War One.
The Holocaust was a horrific tragedy which started in January of 1933 and ended in May of 1945, the Holocaust was the mass murder of millions of people. The word was derived from the Greek word that meant Sacrifice to the Gods (Steele 7), also called the Shoan which is the Hebrew word for catastrophe (Steele 7). So many countries took place in this 12-year genocide, including, “Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria, which were also known as the Axis Powers” (Steele 34). But, although there were all those countries they were all part of one larger group called the Nazis, were the ones who were killing all the different denominations of people. (Bachrach 58).
The Holocaust is a shining example of Anti-Semitism at its best and it was no secret that the Nazis tried to wipe out the Jews from Europe but the question is why did the Nazis persecute the Jews and how did they try to do it. This essay will show how the momentum, from a negative idea about a group of people to a genocide resulting in the murder of 6 million Jews, is carried from the beginning of the 19th Century, with pseudo-scientific racial theories, throught the 20th century in the forms of applied social darwinism and eugenics(the display of the T4 programme), Nazi ideas regarding the Jews and how discrimination increased in the form of the Nuremberg Laws , Kristallnacht, and last but not least, The Final Solution. Spanning throughout the 19th century, racial theories were seen. Pseudo-Scientific theories such as Craniometry,where the size of one’s skull determines one’s characteristics or could justifies one’s race( this theory was used first by Peter Camper and then Samuel Morton), Karl Vogt’s theory of the Negro race being related to apes and of how Caucasian race is a separate species to the Negro race, Arthur de Gobineau’s theory of how miscegenation(mixing or interbreeding of different races) would lead to the fall of civilisation.

The causes of the Holocaust begin at the end of World War One with what Germans referred to as “the stab in the back”.
