You must go to school, get your diploma, and go to college so you can get a decent job and make a lot of money for a good life. In the essay, “The Boys are Doing Just Fine” by Carine Felton. and “No, the Boys are Not Doing Just Fine” by Richard Reeves, two quite different arguments are being made about whether men are thriving while women are left struggling... But I am finding myself convinced by Mr. Richard V. Reeves, that the boys are not fine. Feyten continually attacks men as thriving and they can keep up with the changes in society better than women are, especially in the work force where men dominate the fields of science, technology, and engineering and of course manual labor jobs. There is always going to be a difference between what women and men do, construction for instance, unfortunately there are limitations to how much a woman can do compared to a man. Some issues women also face that result in less money are women more than likely to take a break in their career at some point to become mothers or other responsibilities. This leads to Feyten’s main argument that more men are enrolling than women in college now. The idea is that if a woman goes to college and earns a degree, she can get a better paying job, which is mostly true, but in the last couple of years a lot of women are doing the same thing, and this could lower the job market. Feyton states that “The percentage of women ages 25-34 with a bachelor’s degree has risen from 12 percent to 46 percent, and the average student body is 60-40 split in favor of women.” In Reeve’s argument, he presents attention to the fact that women outperform men in every subject, women have the determination to get the best grades, or get the promotion in their careers, but
