Reflection about reading “No Excuses University—Interventions”

Interventions can be greatly help children who really need extra support and it make a huge difference in their school life. It is teachers’ decision when they really needed or how they introduce the intervention to children who need. I perceived the term of intervention that was happen with when someone or group of people come up with innovational ideas to change things improve the circumstances. When I consider all aspect of the student’s time in school, I think it is important to intervene that offers student comfortable and enjoyable spaces would be great. The volunteers and from outside who can support school events such as dancing night or spirit day would give them some home like environment. Community supports also another way to give student friendly environment while they are school when they can offer group activity such as fun sports games or art festivals. I support the ideas that student s welfare also important part of school life. Once establish this kind of friendly environment, teacher also establish democratic classroom rules for students. Instead coercive approach, allow students to set their own guidelines next to teachers classroom rules. "Never develop an ownership of the social responsibility involved," Riner says. Then students help determine classroom rules, they take ownership of them, many experts contend (1996).” Teacher create the classroom with the respectful culture. When teachers use inflicting authority on student, there would be conflict and power struggles. Instead, when Teacher use positive intervention would bring Students in self-motivated autonomous
