College Fair Reflection

In the College Fair, I visited Dordt College, Sino British College, and iCLA. Dordt college was from the United States, Sino British College from Shanghai, and iCLA from Japan. I learned about the specialities, the environment, scholarship, majors, and many other important information about the colleges.
The first college I visited was Dordt College. According to Adam Adams, a person who is in charge of admission in Dordt College, Dordt college is a special school in that “it is a number 1 school in the United States for student engagement.” Moreover, this school cares for “academic, social, and spiritual development of students, and help them to understand …show more content…

This college is special because it is located in Yamanashi so “the cost living is much cheaper than in Tokyo.” Also, there are Japan studies programs and they use English in the classes. The most popular majors are “economic art and performing art.” The average financial aid given to first year freshmen students are “75%, 50%, and 100% depending on the student’s academic ability.” The students have to live in campus for the first year but they can choose their second year. Also, they need to find abroad universities for third and fourth years and stay at the campuses in those universities. “Yamanashi is surrounded by mountain and there are 4 seasons in Japan (iCLA recruiter).” There are special events in this College, such as samurai parade, food festivals, and halloween party. According to the iCLA website, the students who want to apply to this college must get at least 76 TOEFL iBT or 5.5 in IELTS. The tuition fee of this college is 1,695,000 JPY (iCLA).
Through the experience in this college fair, I learned that there are different specialities in every colleges and there are different requirements for the students to enter them. The colleges have certain majors they are good at teaching and I learned that it is really important to research about them in order to choose the college that best fits me. I really enjoyed talking with the college recruiters and I’m excited for the next college
