My Writing 121 Journey
At the start, I knew how to string words together to earn a grade. However, during this term I’ve learned the importance of knowing your audience. In essay #1: Representing ourselves, I analyzed myself to see what persona I created and got the chance to look in depth through my followers’ eyes. In essay #2: Advertisement analysis, I got to be a critical audience and learn how marketers use many different techniques to appeal to a wide variety of people. The last two projects challenged me the most, although I preferred them over the others. It gave me a chance to talk passionately about a topic that affects me. I learned how to talk to a fragile audience and the powerful effects of pathos. Through this writing 121 class I have learned many skills that have helped me become more in tune with my own writing habits and better enhance my writing process.
I have written many essays this term, however, I preferred the Effects of Technology essay the most. I got the chance to write personally about a topic that affects me and my family. I feared adding sources to my work because I have had difficulty in the past, however I found it very helpful working through a database and was able to locate sources which added depth …show more content…

Overall, I have seen the many positive things I do when it comes to my own writing process. For instance, when writing informative papers, I have a fairly good time with keeping a professional tone and appealing to an individual eager to learn. I also noted that most of my writing has nice word variety and vocabulary. However, I notice there are many aspects of my writing that could use some work. For example, I struggle adding my own personal experiences and voice in my writing, however, through this course I had to write a paper which called for many personal examples and I felt that through this term I got slightly better on achieving that
