The book, The Massacre at El Mozote is a significant book that is bringing the story about the Massacre in El Mozote out of the dark and into the light. The book is generally about how the Massacre happened and who was involved in it all. The things that are talked about in it are the El Salvadoran Civil-War, Terrorism and the people are involved in it all. The author, Mark Danner was trying to explain about how this all happened and how the rest of the world responded and reacted to it. Throughout the whole book there were questions appearing like, How did the U.S. play in the role to fight communism?
Susan G. Komen (SGK) is one of the most influential non-profit organizations in terms of its effort in championing their cause. We have been given the task to help rebuild their image, and offer our recommendations on how to regain public trust and support. After the defunding of Planned Parenthood (PP) and its mismanagement of dissemination of information and response, the question that strikes us was why Planned Parenthood responded to the news and actions of SGK negatively. Despite the fact that it is true, that PP was under federal investigation for mismanagement of funds. Based on the knowledge we gain from analyzing scholarly article, video recommendations and records of communication between SGK, PP and the public, our group propose
My role in the French Revolution was a lawyer for the king named François Anne Jacques Bouron. Bouron was an indeterminate and was part of the third estate. I was the notetaker/strategist, Amanda Bystrom was the fast-checker/questioner, and Thomas Horgan was the speaker for Mr. Bouron. As the note-takers, I am responsible for taking notes on all of the speeches on each of the issues that the class discusses. I also need to state the positions of the speakers and determine if they use good evidence to support their arguments.
He makes valid points to support his argument that there may be a parallel between foreign and domestic terrorist. It is important to take a look at this excerpt to see a point of view that the reader may not have thought of before. Overall, this excerpt was backed by many examples and was well
This book does a very good job depicting its main point that the K.K.K. was an American terrorist group, by using many
The New York Vigilance Committee began its life in 1835, and did a tremendous work in order to help the fugitive slaves arriving in the city. In fact, there are three ways in which it aided in the antislavery cause during the 1830s and 1840s. The first one is the way the organization fought slave kidnapping. As we can read in the book, “Most of [the organization’s] attention was devoted to kidnapping cases.”
The Anti-Imperialist League was an organization that included the likes of Andrew Carnegie and William James. The organization spoke out against the rising imperialistic characteristics that American was starting to acquire during the Spanish American War. For example, when Puerto Rico and the Philippines became American Colonies. The Filipinos rebelled against the ruling of their Island, but to no avail, they were beaten by America in a “Bloody, ruthless guerrilla war.” The league's document is formerly referred to as a Platform was founded in 1899 not long after the Spanish and American war.

The history of one of today’s greatest non-profit organizations, Johns Hopkins Hospital, starts first with one humble entrepreneur who dreamed of a better life for people all across the globe. According to an article written by Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins intentions for his hospital were as follows; “…to create a university that was dedicated to advanced learning and scientific research, and to establish a hospital that would administer the finest patient care…to care for the indigent sick of this city and its environs, with regard to sex, age, or color, who may require surgical or medical treatment, and who can be received into the hospital without peril to the other inmates, and the poor of this city and state, of all races, who
The function I see in this organization such as National Honor Society is for the members to first be recognized as part of NHS and second to be a group of hard-working, successful, and dedicated people. I also see the function of the organization as the members having potential to succeed in whatever they are willing to work hard for. In the organization NHS, a function I would also see is the members taking challenges to benefit in the long run. Going through adversities is a factor of being in NHS because of the difficulties that the organization will put in front of them. I would contribute to the continued growth and success of NHS by participating in whatever the organization is asking for the members to do.
I was very honored to know that I qualified as a possible candidate for the National Honor Society. To be honest, I never thought of being in the National Honor Society. Therefore, when I got pulled out of class I immediately thought I had done something wrong. I went home that day and told my mom about it. My mom looked me in the eyes and told me that she was very proud of me and gave me a big hug.
It has been 158 years since John Brown’s raid on Harper’s ferry and to this day historians are questioning whether his actions should deem him a hero or the first true American terrorist. When asking ourselves the question, “Is John Brown a terrorist?” we must first determine what a terrorist is. It is not a term to be used lightly and we must consider both the literal definition of the word and society's understanding of the word before burdening someone with such a heavy title. In comparing Brown’s impassioned steps towards freedom to both the denotation and connotation of the word ‘terrorist,’ we can see that John Brown’s actions do not earn him such a title.
I am deeply honored to be one of the many students to be considered for the National Honor Society. This is something I have been looking forward to ever since I left my former school 's National Honor Society. As my dreams of being inducted are slowly getting closer to becoming a reality, I truly really what qualities are to be shown by those who get the opportunity to be considered. Not only would it be an enormous honor to be accepted, it will show that hard work and effort truly pays off.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to possibly be a part of National Junior Honor Society. I would appreciate being able to be a part of this group to help better the school and it’s environment for people that work there. This would give me a chance to give back to the school district that has gotten me where I am today and has taught me so much. Scholarship, leadership, character, service, and citizenship are qualities not normally seen in every child today and are big shoes to fill.
