As we went over the constitution and made our own I learned many things about how intricate things are and must be for our government to function. Like, our branches of government and how they intertwine using checks and balances. While writing the class constitution we exercised picking a way to govern. Which was more difficult than expected, because of all the different forms of government we could choose from, including the properties of that government like limited powers, separation of powers and even deciding if we wanted to keep the constitution a living document that can be updated and modified. Congress also has the power to impeach government officials such as the president. This is an example of a system called checks and balances that our constitution provides to keep each branch in check and another example of checks and balances is the president can veto laws from the legislative branch. The final branch of government is the judicial branch which checks to make sure that the constitution is being followed and if a law is following the constitution or not. The constitution was built directly in a way to delegate powers to the three branches of government, the bill of rights and giving the powers not mentioned in the constitution to the states. This was strategically put in place to ensure our government can keep running smoothly and so that there will be no major conflicts and grabs for power.The experience I got from writing a classroom constitution was interesting as we got to see what it really must have been like to sit and debate for days about huge subjects like how would they pick their representatives and how they would separate their government into
