Reflection on 4th June It was a special day at school for me since I had a test lesson. I was under pressure and it was the first time that I had a test lesson. I decided to teach in 8th grade, level A an article which tells briefly the story behind the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. I was under pressure since I didn’t know the students in this class before and thus, I found it a bit challenging to plan this lesson. Before the lesson, I wrote on the board the topic of the lesson and I had an opportunity to meet some of the students during the break. At the beginning of the lesson, I introduced myself. Next, I told them that after the game and our short discussion they know what trivia games are and how it feels to take part in this game and thus, they are ready to read an article about a trivia game. I asked the students to open their books and look at the picture, title and subtitles and guess what this article deals with. While the students thought about their answers, I wrote the article’s title on the board- “Who Will Win a Billion?”. I elicited information from the students again and then, I asked for volunteers to read the article. At the end of each paragraph, I asked the students some questions about vocabulary and content in order to be sure that they understood the article and to raise their interest. I think that the students found this article interesting, they participated and we had fruitful discussions about some of the questions.
