Writing is a good way to help us learn about the world around us. It opens a door for us to understand one another, but most importantly, to understand our Creator. Since the time of the oldest alphabet to today's modern alphabet, it has been the most important discovery that helped early man learn about one another. Writing can change someone's ideas or can help them see something from another point of view. Writing may help you to speak your mind without the fear of others direct criticism.
Question 1 Why we write? Writing is a basic way to express your feelings, thoughts, opinion, and learning. A primary way to evaluate a person’s learning and intellect in college, the workplace, or even in the community is how the person writes about different things and shares his or her aspects. Writing helps in training a person’s communication and critical thinking skills. It helps in identifying someone’s personality and also makes an individual’s thinking and knowledge noticeable and long-lasting.
1). Why study writing? In my opinion, we study writing for two reasons, the first is to continue to improve the writing skills that we have already acquired and used every day. The second is to learn and understand new concepts and types of writing that have developed over time and by doing so rendering ourselves better prepared to communicate in different situations.
Senior year of High school here at North Stafford my writing over the years has vastly improved through the accumulation of all my classes. Not only did my writing improve but also, my writing styles over the year has grown and matured for the better. I learned and understood for the first time how to use a document and properly cite it in my papers. Not only hot to cite it but where to find accurate and official sources as in books, encyclopedias, news articles, government papers, and online URLs. I have experienced over the year how to write a concise yet detailed paper within a few weeks.
Writing is a process we all must learn. We write to be more creative, to get our point across, express our feelings, tell our stories but I think most of us just write because we have to. High school taught me how to use the five paragraph essay genre, helped me organize my writing with brainstorming. I would let out my thoughts and would try to organize them the best way possible following the outline that I was going to utilize.
My writing style and preference was represented in many different class assignments throughout the year. In these, I saw that I wrote in a more creative and stylistic aspect compared to the standard essay format. While there were many flaws in each piece of work, I’m currently most proud of my use of symbolism, allusions, and the dramatic effect I used in the assignments. They all contribute to the overall style of my writing, for I write with the intention of embedding emotions and symbolic messages within the text. For that reason, I most enjoyed writing the feature article, as I am considerably passionate about topics relating to conformity, and I had a lot of freedom while writing it; human emotions and psychology always interest me in
Writing helps me to be more of myself that I would be in a verbal setting and it shows me that I am capable of connecting with words without fear of judgment. I am free to be who I want to be when I write. In the end, writing is an invaluable teaching
Throughout the term there has been many writing assignments —big or small— that helped reflect my writing process or the process itself. In the beginning of the course I felt like I was an “ok” writer, but lacked some skills such as: organization, sentence variety, and vocabulary. Also, I did not like to write and had a feeling of dislike when forced to write. I felt like I improved on everything I wanted and was seen throughout the semester. I know how to organize my ideas, the worksheets given in class to work on sentence variety really helped, and vocabulary was built on some level.
My Process of Writing Writing can be a difficult thing if one hadn’t ever really wrote before. It takes a lot of thought and experience to be great at doing so. I only write when told to do so, or when it is a requirement to do so. My final essay last semester, of my English class was one of my last writings that come to mind.
It was two weeks after the day my High school English IV teacher had given the class a 10 page essay assignment to complete, it was that day that I discovered something new about my writing skills and what I was capable of. As zealous and fanatical as I was, I was ready to start this paper especially knowing how important this was for me and how this would reflect on me. I put in time, effort and at least 29 hours into this essay on civil rights. This is best exemplified by letting it be aware how stressed out I was while finishing this essay not having much time for many things, juggling a job and other classes I somehow still managed to get it done and assuredly be satisfied with it. Overall i would still have to admit the main problem I had was starting off with an intro and staying on topic and trying to remember not to repeat the same things over and over.
ENG-122 Reflective Essay My writing process has changed tremendously over the course of this class. I feel more accomplished, confident and I feel sometimes that my ideas and thoughts just come in to my mind out of nowhere and I start writing about anything now. I pay attention to my punctuation and grammar more as I have polished them more now, not only when I write but then others write as well. I am constantly looking for errors and I highly think this is helping me a lot in my career.
Writing is something that has dependably been an issue in my life. I do appreciate writing insofar as it's not scholarly, for example, research papers. I have dependably had issues with writing because of things like grammar and sentence parts. However, this semester has been a major partner to me. We have concentrated all these diverse issues and now feel I have enhanced much on these things yet at the same time could utilize more.
Writing is a vital part of life. Before the creation of written language human communication was limited to verbal, in-person conversations. Everything changed when writing allowed thoughts and ideas to travel farther and more efficient than ever before. Writing is a talent that we learn at an early age and only hone as we proceed through our academic careers. This being said, as with any talent every writer has strengths and weaknesses.
Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.
What does writing mean to me? Writing means getting people engaged in your piece. It means people wanting to keep reading what you wrote. The biggest thing about writing to me is expressing your thoughts and letting your mind go. Using good word choice and having a strong voice in the writing is something that makes it good.
