It was two weeks after the day my High school English IV teacher had given the class a 10 page essay assignment to complete, it was that day that I discovered something new about my writing skills and what I was capable of. As zealous and fanatical as I was, I was ready to start this paper especially knowing how important this was for me and how this would reflect on me. I put in time, effort and at least 29 hours into this essay on civil rights. This is best exemplified by letting it be aware how stressed out I was while finishing this essay not having much time for many things, juggling a job and other classes I somehow still managed to get it done and assuredly be satisfied with it. Overall i would still have to admit the main problem I had was starting off with an intro and staying on topic and trying to remember not to repeat the same things over and over. …show more content…
I would just write it all as I think about it which would cause me to jump back and forth to different topics. Staying on topic while writing an essay is more than important you must stay on topic in order for your paper to be compelling and understandable, backing up your paper with supporting details and supporting points that corresponds with each other and keeps your paper flowing. This has influenced my thoughts on writing today by making sure in each paper that I write, I ask myself first, does my paper introduce a new topic? Does it state what the topic is? Does the topic support the thesis directly and indirectly, or not at all? Does my paragraphs develop
