Writing is a process we all must learn. We write to be more creative, to get our point across, express our feelings, tell our stories but I think most of us just write because we have to. High school taught me how to use the five paragraph essay genre, helped me organize my writing with brainstorming. I would let out my thoughts and would try to organize them the best way possible following the outline that I was going to utilize.
It’s easier for me to write my body paragraphs first, introductions and conclusions can be the most difficult parts of the paper for me to write. The information in each of your paragraphs must be related to one point in your thesis. I like to brainstorm and write out all my ideas before coming back to organize them

Writing essays didn’t and still at times doesn’t come easy to me, I can’t just sit down and start writing. If I know what my essay topic is ahead of time and I think of an idea while working or in class I will automatically write it down before I forget it. In Anne Tyler’s “Still Just Writing” she talks about her busy life as a mother and wife and how hard it is to stay focused and accomplish tasks. I understand what that is like, I too am a mother, a wife, a student tending to everyone’s needs while trying to get everything I need done is difficult. Another example I can relate to is a sentence out of Anne Lamott’s “Shitty First Drafts “So I'd start writing without reining myself in. It was almost just typing, just making my fingers move. And the writing would be terrible” (Lamott, 2015) I feel this is what I do because when I’m writing a paper I brainstorm and write out all my ideas, which allows me to enhance the options I have to write about. She also makes me realize and understand how important our rough drafts are, they improve and could help us develop a better essay. Rough drafts help you overlook common grammar errors and help you finish your final draft with less mistakes and better organization of your
