Throughout the spring 2017 semester, English 1320 served as an outlet for me to better hone my writing abilities. English 1320 provided practice for many writing related challenges that students are likely to face. Practice writing in an academic setting with proper citations, free form writing in the hupomnematas, collaborative group work that tested student’s abilities to work with cooperatively and focus on self-reflection and revision we’re all highlighted in the course. I never felt as if I was stagnating or doing a project just for the sake of turning something in. Each project had a goal and something to teach. While not an exceptionally challenging course, I don’t believe that it needs to or should be. English 1320 demanded a fair amount of effort for a fair grade. …show more content…

Proper formatting and citations were stressed and strength off content was evaluated as well. I can safely say that I know how to give a citation a hanging indent in Microsoft Word now, but beyond that it felt great to participate in the act of having a serious say in topics of importance. In my annotated bibliography titled Working Class Influence in the 2016 Election I got to research and discuss topics and issues that were extremely resent and of a lot of importance to me. Because the topic was so fresh at the time it was written, the writing process was extremely active and inspiring. This project taught me a lot of little things rather than any big lessons, but the sum of the little things adds up. Learning what defines an academic source, refreshing myself on how to properly cite in MLA format and learning to use “et al.” correctly was great for the beginning
