I do appreciate the opportunity of right to appeal or decision reconsideration given to me, however at this time, I would appreciate if you could look at the Housing Benefit decision again for the following reasons. • Unfortunately you have erred in your decision that I did not shown sufficient reason for you to reach that decision. • The reason I gave for not being able to claim earlier was different to what you interpreted in your letter to me. ( Claim sheet attached for clarification) • Paragraph four of your letter says 'you have refused to backdate my claim because I have claimed for housing benefit over a month from when I claimed job seekers'. This statement is not correct either. • You also said I should have claimed in August 2015 when I claimed job seekers allowance. However this was the case as I explained to you colleague on the 8th October 2015 when I visited your office. • Finally, you said I have been claiming for a number of years, this statement is not correct because my last Housing Benefit claim was almost two years ago. On my visit to your office on the 8th October 2015, I explained the situation to the officer at the counter who understood and looked around if there is any staff in charge that could take me through a new Housing Benefits application there. As soon as I received the JSA award letter, I sent it to your office on the 3rd September 2015, with this; I taught I have done everything necessary to be done. Not until I received a letter from HackneyHomes that the rent of that duration of time was missing, that I realised I have to come to you again. The officer said to me that my Housing Benefit application was not forwarded to your office automatically so I should now apply again and request for a backdated
