The focused job search starts with identifying your goals and values. In order to not waste your time, nor a prospective employer, know what types of jobs you qualify for, and would like, is important prior to beginning the job search. This paper discusses what types of jobs I am interested in, the results of a job search, what I learned from resume building and preparing for an interview, and an assessment of my experience in a practice interview. My background is in Project and Product Management. I have extensive management experience at the director level, however have not had the opportunity to work a the vice president level. Additionally, I have worked in the education technology industry. I am most interested in leveraging my project and product management knowledge in the medical industry to broaden by personal brand beyond education technology. For example, Flipdog listed jobs that were entry level. On Jobing.com, I realized that majority of quality management systems jobs require a degree in nursing or medical degree (Jobing, n.d.). It may be easier for me to break into the medical industry by utilizing my project management skills, and taking on a job within the industry with this skillset such as the change management lead job for Centura Health (Jobing, n.d.a). If I want to stay at the director level, or break into the vice president level, using an executive placement company, such as Stewart, Cooper & Coon, referred to on the CSU-Global website, may be an better option (Stewart, Cooper & Coon, n.d.). Additionally, relying on my extensive Linkin network (Linkedin, n.d.) to refer me to someone within the medical device industry would be more effective than applying to jobs on company sites, given that I do not have all of the required skills, and am looking to change
