Even though community service does not sound appealing to every person, it has created new experiences for me. Visiting schools have been enjoyable because I get to be around younger kids and it brings me back memories of
It also enables anybody to have that long-lasting and significant impact on society. Providing volunteer services gives me the opportunity to help someone in need while also advancing my life skills and wisdom. I like participating in community service because it is really fulfilling for anyone who gives back to their community. As I learn how it teaches me compassion and understanding, I also think it's crucial. This is a pillar that I consider to be of utmost importance.
When it comes to service I take it as a way to give back to my society and help the people around. I always baby set for relatives and neighbors and I clean public places from trash. I always try to help the students in my school and I am always there to help with anything. I might to not be enrolled in big programs or clubs for volunteering but what I do are not hours on a piece of paper that will make me look good when I apply for college.
It allows them to assist others without an expectation of a reward and to have a positive and enthusiastic spirit. I have participated in community service activities such as, assisting the national forest service in removing invasive species of The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, coaching kindergarteners for K-Ball, organizing the blessing box for my church, and assisting with the Reading High School Alumni yearly banquet. Each of these projects has allowed me to help my community in different ways. Removing invasive species in The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem allowed the national forest service to gain more intel on the various species of invasive plants. By helping coach the kindergarteners for K-Ball, I was able to practice another one of my skills being leadership, and teach the kids various skills that they will use not just in sports but hopefully as they go through life.
From the time I was in middle school all the way to now I have always prided myself with the fact that I have always been a part of the community around me. It has always been a priority to me to give back to a community, I have been so fortunate to be a part of for a portion of my life. In my hometown starting with middle school I joined a couple school organizations like Teen Against Tobacco Use, or TATU, and Youth Entertaining Teen Interests, or YETI, these were two organizations I could join to donate my time back to my community. In YETI, I was able to have a big role in my community, we were an organization that did lots of volunteer work around the area, like cleaning up the area, donating money so we could build a ramp for people with
My eyes automatically drifted to the tall bright palm tree that moved along with the rhythm of the wind. It’s leafs danced as they presented their welcome. The sun shined down and hugged me with warmth, giving my skin a tingling, but satisfying sensation. I had come from Virginia to California, the famous, constantly spoken of state, that finally reached my sight. The state presented its beautiful attributes to capture my wonder and mesmerization.
Community service is the process of doing an act for someone else, and it is not for a reward. It is simply to help others. Emma Thurman’s idea of community service is, “It gives kids an education of how to care for others and the place they live.” According to Mrs. Havens, 7th grade counselor, “It helps boost your self-esteem because doing things for other people makes us feel better. You learn something.
Finding motivation to attend college is easy, keeping the motivation to finish is the difficult part. I decided to enroll in college to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Finance. I hope that the degree will give me the opportunity to apply for a better position within the organization that I currently work for. A secondary goal of returning to school is to demonstrate to my son that attending college is required for many jobs and that returning to school as an adult has various difficult challenges. I have been working for the past nine years as an Assistant Financial Officer and am highly competent at my job.
A Sense of Accomplishment Volunteering isn’t one of the most plush, easy, or glamorous of jobs, but it is one of the most beneficial and up lifting. While no monetary compensation is received, many will tell you that their work and experiences gained as a volunteer were worth way more than any money they could have gotten from another line of work. Think of it like this: volunteering is done on a person’s own accord. It’s taking some time out of your day and helping others. Volunteer work makes us feel good.
They say some people are destined for greatness, and there 's no escaping destiny. But often, those who are chosen to be great have no idea. Through trials and tribulations, they find their way. There are many experiences that have motivated my change, it took me a long time to realize I had to do better not only for me but for my family. Backbone was a big part of why I decided to go to college, it opened my eyes to so much, broadened my way of thinking.
How High School changed Me! I will be talking about how High School changed me and what I had to go through to get where I am today. My first year of High school wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. My first couple of weeks of my freshmen year i learned a lot about what you could do and different clubs you can join and opportunities that can help you, I joined Trio it was a club/program that would help you through high school and college in high school they can help you with any classes your having trouble with them they will teach you about different colleges and programs that they have, they will also help you with SATs, scholarships and much more as you go through high school, I thought that would be a good program for me, mainly because I didn’t live with my mom or dad I lived with my aunt
Academic success to me is achieving good grades and understanding the material to get good grades. Academic success also means to have an good attendance. I already get mostly A’s and B’s, but I am not good at staying on top of things. To improve my academic success I will attend class more often, be more organized, pay attention in class, and not procrastinate.
Generally, when students help out in the community they do it because they care. Currently, at Redondo Union High School, students are not required to maintain a specific number of volunteer hours to graduate. Every now and then administration discusses making volunteer hours a graduation requirement, and whether it would help or hinder the student population. Volunteering in our community should be required because it will allow RUHS students to gain a fresh outlook on life, but this requirement would only be beneficial to students if there was not an unrealistic standard. Most students at our highly praised school strive to be accepted by a four-year university.
Community service does not only have a profound impact on our community, but the impact it has on the individual people is even greater. The concept of community service has always been something that I grew up with, and now that I am older I better understand how important community service is for society. I have participated in community service activities. Starting in elementary school, I helped feed the homeless and rescue animals. Even with my wide range of volunteer experience, it was difficult to find an activity that would be meaningful and fulfill my thirty-hour obligation for my senior project.
Being a teacher is a journey that has much to do with learning about yourself and being aware that what happens in your classroom reflects only on how are you with yourself. Teachers are not conscious that they project into students, and that affects how things go in the classroom. I believe the first characteristic of a good teacher is that he/ she is always willing to analyze his/her teaching performance. Second the teacher is humble enough to receive input about the development and application of techniques, learning from it and improving.
