The 12 Angry Men was initially a play written in 1954. Three years later it became a highly successful film. The author's purpose for writing this was to make people aware of what was happening in society at that time. The 1950s were a very hard time for people of color. It was stated that Reginald Rose the author of 12 Angry Men was known for writing about social and political issues during the year of him writing the 12 Angry Men. There was lots of racial injustice. People of color were being convicted of crimes they did not commit. They were being killed for the color of their skin.
