The question of advertising aimed at children is complex, involving multiple factors of personal liberty and the protection of vulnerable populations. While some believe that businesses can regulate advertising, using it for benign and healthy promotion, others believe that it can be a tool for manipulating impressionable minds into buying unhealthy products. Although I believe that young people should be protected from manipulative or predatory forms of advertising, I do not believe it is feasible or advisable to regulate their access through legislation banning such advertisements.
