Chapter 1 Physical phenomena from previously Summarized Cases The first example of the phenomena at issue here comes in the very first of the cases in my first book on reincarnation, namely that concerning William McConnell, a New York policeman. Trying to prevent a robbery, he was shot six times, the fatal bullet entering his back and penetrating his left lung, heart, and main pulmonary artery. One of his daughters, Doreen, five years later bore a son she named William. From the age of three the child gave evidence of familiarity with details of the life of his grandfather. From birth she had light colored birthmarks on the left side of her chest and lower ribs. Beginning just before her third birthday she began to speak of a previous life as a male incense maker in a town about 145 miles from her hometown. This is one of a number of cases involving cross-genders. By her 6th birthday she had made at least 20 statements concerning the ‘former life’ including the claim that she was selling incense sticks on a bicycle when she was killed in an accident with a big vehicle. Investigation by her school teacher revealed that a man in that town named Jinadasa Perera was killed by a bus while taking sticks to market on a bicycle about two years before Purnima was born. While resting in a field after work one day he was fatally shot and wounded by one, įsa Dirbekli, who was hunting rabbits. Dirbekli mistook Selim for a rabbit and shot him at close range. The pellets entered the right side of his head and he died a few days later. Several months thereafter Semih Tutuşmuş (Quantum World, p.29), the son of Ali and Karanfil Tutuşmuş was born in the neighboring village of Şarkonak, two kilometers from Hatun Köy. The father, Ali, had known of the circumstances of the death of Fesli, and both of Semih’s parents saw their child as the reincarnation of Fesli.
