For my final project I decided I wanted to do the life cycle but specifically I chose reincarnation. Reincarnation really appealed to me because of its mystical ideology. Reincarnation is defined as the belief that the soul, upon death of the body, comes back to earth in another body or form. Reincarnation is known through out many cultures as a symbol of rebirth. All around the world reincarnation has its own form of interpretation. Some people believe that when they are reborn they become a specific animal depending on how they acted in their previous life. Others believe that when you are born again you become another human. What I found interesting in this belief is that some people believe that the birthmarks we are born with are battle wounds of our previous life. The history of reincarnation was found in Greece. Many of the famous historic figures like Plato, and Socrates held the belief of reincarnation. Some of the major areas that are known for their reincarnation beliefs are the major religions of India. Some of these examples are Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism. When most people think of reincarnation these religions usually come to mind. …show more content…
For the first example I chose a poem. The poem “Life Cycle of Death” is written by Soma Mukherjee really goes through reincarnation in a very simplistic way. From the beginning of the poem it is shown in the light of a newborn with a script of life and death. As the child learns more and more through out life he grows old. Once he is old he is filled with experience, and so much knowledge regarding this earth only to be wiped away upon death and he is born once again as another being. I really loved this poem because it was really touching and has so much meaning to what life could
