Education is a fundamental strategy for human development, poverty alleviation and ultimate, for peace and security. Education is related to poverty at both micro and macro levels. At the micro level, illiterate individuals or household are less productive, join lower-paying occupations, and earn less and remain at very low levels of living, mostly below poverty line. At the macro level, nations with illiterate or less educated masses can progress well, cannot increase their output extensively, and as a result remain with low standards of living. The impact of the relationship between poverty and education is further felt as education and other basic needs reinforce each other. Less educated households and nations are also characterized by high mortality rates and poor health.

The programs initiated for educations in Myanmar are ambitious and inclusive for students; developing a problem-solving and creative orientation toward institutions and social issues: promoting national unity and eliminating discrimination: learning to work cooperatively with others: and developing self-reliance, recent education reforms have strongly influenced the meaning and role of education and the development of the Myanmar education
