“The real causes of this tragedy are ignorance and misinformation”
In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, characters are often responsible for the outcome. To attribute ignorance and misinformation solely to Romeo and Juliet’s death is correct. The basis of this tragedy is the lack of knowledge and miscommunication of influential characters who meddle with Romeo and Juliet’s lives. This is the product of characters like the Friar, Tybalt and the Capulets who make decisions without learning or knowing the true nature of people and events. Romeo and Juliet are victims of the uninformed decisions of influential characters.
The misinformed Friar Lawrence is to be blamed for this tragedy. This is because his plan was lazy and unwatchful. In Act

“Take this vial...drink of thou” (4.1.93-94). The tone of this exchange between Friar Lawrence and Juliet highlights a sense of urgency. The hasty descision magnifies how quickly Friar Lawrence comes to a descision without thinking about his descision. When Juliet came to him at the beginning of Act four, he should have advised her to confess to her father of her relationship with Romeo. It's quite possible, judging from Capulet's expressed opinion of Romeo (1.5.65-66) and his love for his daughter, that he might have understood. Therefore, Friar Lawrence is seen to be a lazy character. The Friar was not able to get his message to Romeo in time to alert him of Juliet’s situation. “I could not send it” (5.2.14). The Instead of sending Friar John, he should have sent the message with Balthasar who, according to Act V, Scene 3, was someone that the Friar knew well. He must have known that the impetuous Romeo was capable of anything and how important reaching him in time was to the entire plan.
