Is a romantic relationship or friendship more important when it comes to relationships? A friendship is indeed more important when it comes to relationships because they will always be there for you through anything. This is obviously shown in George and Lennie’s relationship as they traveled together in John Steinbeck’s novel Of Mice and Men. George and Lennie are best friends who traveled to a ranch in Soledad, California with a goal in mind to find new land for themselves. Lennie has a mental disability and made a big mistake when they worked back in Weed. George forgave him and trusted him when they got into certain situations at the ranch. In the story, there are two teens who met each other and immediately fell in love. Their families are enemies and despite each but Romeo and Juliet does not let that tear them apart. They are willing to do anything for each other, even if it goes as far as death. Even though both relationships are very solid; Romeo and Juliet have only known each other for four days while George and Lennie lived together for a long time. George and Lennie have a stronger relationship than Romeo and Juliet because they are long time friends, they understand each other, and stay together through everything.
