God or no god ponders in the depth of one's mind at some point in their life. A forsaken voyage through the layers of hell, ables us to see Dante's view on religion which appears to be Christianity. As one makes his way through hell as a devoted christian we are left to ponder if his beliefs in the Inferno is an actual representation of the beliefs Dante has towards the christian religion. Is this man genuine or is there another twist tone to the value trailing the text?
Limbo, the first circle of hell consists the souls of Non-Christians and unbaptized pagans who are punished with eternity inferior form of Heaven. These souls were condemned here because they lacked baptism and did not worship god in fitting ways (canto 4 lines 35-39). These souls did not sin and were admirable but like the bible states the only access to heaven is complete dedication towards christianity and god himself. Overall, Dante’s Inferno is his pilot on how to lead a scrupulously faithful, Christian-belief eternal life. Throughout the exploration, Dante scrutinizes all the circles of hell, and in them all the sins sworn that placed these souls there. He shows the explicit examples of well known characters that are anguished in hell, to show the blunder of their ways. By displaying all the deeds that should be bypassed through mainly frequent known characters and the dire ramification that consort them, he is also enhancing the concept of Heaven, and the extensive role Christianity and God demanded to have on a
