The movie Remember the Titans is a suspenseful, inspirational and thought-provoking movie directed by Boaz Yakin, and one of the most important characters is Julius Campbell, who at the start of the film is an antisocial, unchanging person who is prejudiced against whites, but changes into a friendly, sociable man after a series of events in the movie.

Back in 1971 in Alexandria, Virginia, where the movie started, it wasn't unusual for black people to hate whites and whites to hate blacks. Like this, Julius was prejudiced against whites, and for this reason he was unenthusiastic to play or make friends with them. This statement is supported by what he says at the first Titans meeting “Didn't I tell you all them white boys weren't gonna play for no brother?” Proving that Julius was confident, that despite the whole situation of the merging schools, that there would be no change and they, including Julius, would not get along. A game-changing moment is when the Titans are having running practice in the morning, and they reach Gettysburg, the place where the climax of the American Civil War was fought. Boone then says “If we don’t come together… then we too will be destroyed.” Comparing the situation of the whites and blacks to the Civil War. This thought hits Julius hard, and he changes instantly. This change is shown at night practicing, and Gerry Bertier suddenly pushes Julius roughly, saying “This is left side!” At first, Julius thinks Gerry wants to start a fight, but after seeing Gerry’s friendly intentions, Julius responds in the same manner, saying “Strong Side!” Showing how much Julius has completely changed in such a short period of
