Dorcas Meadowes and Remus Lupin were both sorted into Gryffindor when they entered the magical school of Hogwarts in 1971, but despite that neither of them actually talked to the other until their first christmas break when they were the only two Gryffindors that hadn’t gone home. It was Christmas Eve and Dorcas Meadowes, with her black hair tied back into a braid, sat on the red padded couch with her bony legs outstretched in front of her. She was reading the book ‘The Princess Bride’ and her grey orbs she called eyes flew over the printed word. After a moment the female rolled her eyes and set down her book, a marker already in place. “Need help there Lupin?” His cheeks were stained pink and his nodded mutely; Dorcas lifted herself off the piece of furniture and wandered over to the pale boy. She notice, as she stood in front of him, she only reached his collarbones, she stood on her tippytoes-her feet only guarded by thick wool socks. One of her gaunt hands took one of Remus’s from his scarf and the other lifted the edge of his ushanka back, so Remus could see how close Dorcas’s face was to his. His amber eyes widened considerably, though orcas hadn’t noticed, instead she started to unwrap his scarf until it was wound around her lanky fingers. “Thanks,” Remus squeaked and Dorcas sent him a closed lip smiled, she handed him his scarf. “No problem,” And she walked back over to her spot in front of the fire where she resumed her book. But Remus stayed in the same spot, perpetually frozen for a moment as he watched her turn a
