The Renaissance was a period of revival that spanned from the 14th to the 17th century. It is known as a bridge between the medieval and modern periods and is characterized by a renewed interest in classical learning and the arts, humanism, and the rise of nation-states. However, it is also the starting of our modern era, and the technology and ideas we see today. The renaissance was a bridge to modern society because of the cultural, intellectual, and scientific advancements of the time period.

Scientists and inventors made significant advances in fields such as astronomy, physics, and mathematics. New technologies such as the telescope and the microscope were invented, which allowed for a greater understanding of the natural world. Galileo was a major proponent of the heliocentric theory, which was radical for his time. Most people in the renaissance believed that the earth was the center of the universe. His discoveries about the planets and their motion made way for modern astronomy and physics which explain the world around us. His development of the heliocentric theory led to our modern calendars, and even how we interpret the seasons. During this time the scientific method was also created, which is still used today, and leads into the emergence of modern science. But one of the most significant achievements of the Renaissance was the invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg. This allowed for the mass production of books and other printed materials, making knowledge and ideas more accessible to a wider audience. The printing press also helped to spread the ideas of the Renaissance throughout Europe and beyond. This creation that spreads ideas connects to how we use the internet today, and we use other communication
