The Mona Lisa was painted by Da vinci around 1503. It is said to be the potrait of Lisa del Giocondo , the wife of the silk merchant Francesco de Giocondo. The Mona Lisa became an house hold name only after it was stolen from the Louvre museum, Paris by a handy man Vincenzo Peruggia. It was kept in hiding for 2 years till it was found again.
In the mean while, another painting which was named the Isle Worth Mona Lisa was discovered by a traveller who was visiting an estate in Somerset- Hugh blaker. Ashtonishingly the Isle Worth Mona Lisa looked exactly like the Stolen Mona Lisa. Except the Isle worth Mona Lisa looks much younger in this painting.
