World War Two caused the death of millions of innocent people and the destruction of thousands of years of civilisation through the viciousness of mankind. World War Two started on the 3rd of September 1939 when the allied forces declared war against Germany after the unprovoked attack of Poland and didn’t end until 1945 with the defeat of the Japanese imperial forces. The battle of Kokoda began on July 21st 1942 when the Japanese imperial army invaded Papua New Guinea with the intent of capturing Port Moresby and using it as a launching point onto Australian soil. The battle ended on January 23rd 1943, resulting in an Allied victory. There were four peoples at war in Kokoda, those were the Australians and the Americans, who were allied.
World War II was a global war that covering every continent and most countries in the world. Starting in 1939 and continues until the end in 1945, although there were a conflicts began earlier. The real cause of this war is still debating. Whether it is the unfair ofTreaty of Versailles, world economic problem, the failure of League of Nations, the usurpation of power by some group of people, etc.
The U.S, Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Japan took part in this four year war, sending thousands, upon thousands of people to risk their lives for their country. In this horrific war, over sixty million people died (more than the Civil War), which was about three percent of the world's population at the time. Some of the famous battles of World War Two are the battle of Iwo Jima, the battle of the bulge, the battle of stalingrad, pearl harbor, the battle of berlin and the battle of el alamein, each battle which ended in bloodshed and death. Finally, the World War two can be termed as the darkest and evil period in the history of man. However, this book, “Unbroken” has briefly explained the events that led to this war, the destruction of Nagasaki and Hiroshima by the atomic bomb (Hillenbrand 33). It also comprises a quote from the Prisoner of war who thinks that in most cases, “the end always justifies the means”, similarly to what happened in the WWII.

Hitler’s plan was to invade the Russian territory before the winter sets in. The commander in chief thought “that the Red Army could be defeated in two or three months” time, and by the end of October, they would have conquered the European regions of Russia (Royde-Smith). They never thought that the war would last for another three years and did not prepare for the winter that had yet to come. The ‘German planners had failed to equip their troops for winter warfare … sufficient food and medicines… [and] outran their supply lines” (Invasion of Soviet Union). By December of 1941, the Red Army had recovered a bit from the millions that was lost on the first few days of war.
Out of the two world wars, World War II is known to be the bloodiest and brutal war. The main reason this is to believed is because to the Holocaust. The Holocaust was the time period where many were persecuted for their beliefs and race. Hitler is who is to blame for the Holocaust, he is the one who organized all the horrific things done to the people who did not fall under his Master Race. Despite the many theories about the purpose of the Holocaust, the real purpose make those who weren’t members of the Master Race fear the Nazi Regime, to force them to obey the Nazi’s without question.
I A. Walter Camp is know as the father of football (Miller 4). The idea of football came from rugby and soccer (Buckley 6). Walter changed the rules of rugby and soccer so they would be fit for football (Miller 4). Walter wanted to have 11 players from each team on the field at one time instead of 15 players (Madden 7). He invented the line of scrimmage, and and that only one team had possession of the ball at a time (MIller 4).
World War II was dominated by the Axis powers initially; Nazi Germany had pushed a couple hundred miles into the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and killed, wounded, or captured nearly six-hundred thousand soviet soldiers. By the end of Operation Barbarossa, eight-hundred thousand soldiers of the Red Army had been killed, and another six million were wounded or captured. The battle on the eastern front was not looking good for Russia as they were being pushed back and slaughtered on their home turf. However, a turning point occurred on the eastern front that would change it from being a German-led offensive, to a Russian-led offensive and German defensive for the rest the war – the Battle of Stalingrad.
As everyone know, chance is the absence of any cause of events that can be predicted, understood,or controlled. They are given to every lifes, but not everyone can take the chances on time. Sometimes if we missed one chance, we might get another one. But sometimes, we might never get it again. Chances don’t come very often so I think that taking every chances that come to our life may be one of the solutions.
The bombing of Dresden took place at the end of the World War II, three months before the war ended, in Germany’s seventh largest city just seven miles behind the eastern Front (Vonnegut). The bombing began February 13, 1945 and lasted the duration of two months ending April 17th. Official narratives in comparison to other official narratives, critics differ in the legitimacy and purpose of the attack and the level of destruction. Written accounts suggest that the allies bombed Dresden for three possible reasons.

World War II is said to be the worst conflict in human history. About fifty to eighty million people died all together. There were concentration camps run by the Germans and there were essentially two wars raging. The two wars were the war in Europe and the war in the Pacific, which was Japan against the United States. World War II went on for six years and would destroy more land and property around the world and kill more people than any other war before.
