The Apache tribe is a Native American tribe that were known to be very fierce warriors at battle. The Zuni word,”Apachu” translates to “enemy,” along with the Yuma translation meaning,”fighting-men.” The Apache tribe consisted of six subtribes called bands. The Western Apache, Chiricahua, Mescalero, Jicarilla, Lipan, and Kiowa were all of the bands that lived in different areas in the southwest (indians.org). Even though the Apache tribe didn’t closely live together, they all still thought that they were family. “The Apache viewed themselves as a single, related people superior to all humans, whom they regarded as members of an inferior species.” (Melody)
The Apache were Nomadic people, meaning that they often traveled places for resources.
