THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND This chapter includes the introductory part for this research project, for it tackles specific parts that introduces the main problem of this study. This chapter thoroughly discuss the background of the problem that are aimed to be resolve in this research. This chapter also includes the past and present studies that are connected on the main topic of this research. In addition, this chapter tackles the introductory process on how will the researchers conduct the study. "The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode, but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul," (Audrey Hepburn, 1993). Beauty pageants is a contest in which people judge a group of women or girls and decide which one is the most beautiful, (Merriam Webster, 2017). At the same time, it is a competition in which the entrants, usually women are judged to as physical beauty and sometimes personality and talent, (Dictionary.com, 2017). First is that the teen beauty pageants, which serves as the prelude to those teenager beauty queen aspirants. This types of pageants serves as the doorway into bigger opportunities of becoming a part of the world wide beauty pageants like Ms. Universe, (Hopkins, 2007).
