Research Paper On Electric Cars

Electric cars they are all around us, yet no one ever notices them or rather the difference in them. They are a great feat of engineering technology, a car this is able to do 270 miles on a charge while producing zero emissions, it is almost futuristic. Electric cars do many things without people noticing such as being better for the environment, being easy (Just as easy as a regular car) to drive, and saving their owners lots of money, there are also many different types, and there are many interesting facts about them. All types do these tasks in many ways such as dropping weight and improving aerodynamics. All of this leads to a better more simplified drivetrain and a car that is everything anyone could need and want it to be. Advancements …show more content…

While every car looks different they all have the same conventional controls. An electric cars also has all of these conventional key components to use the car, they both have a steering wheel, accelerator (gas) and brake pedals, and various other control that are unique but familiar for things like the air conditioning, radio, power windows, and locks, etc. They are so similar in fact that some major manufacturers base their electric cars off of a pre existing gasoline car that is then just edited for weight reduction, aerodynamics and of course the placement of the battery. One way an electric car is unique is it requires electricity as its fuel. It is just as easy to put this electricity into an electric car as it is to put gas into a conventional car. With a conventional gas car just simply open the fuel door, take off the fuel cap, insert the hose from the gas pump and pull the lever to pump the gas. An electric car makes it even easier though all that needs to be done is open the fuel door and insert the electricity plug into the charging port, there is no waiting or sitting there to pump anything. While it is true that it is easier to charge an electric car it does certainly take longer. There are many different times of filling the gas tank on a gasoline car depending on the car, its tank size, and the flow of the pump. It may seem it is a disadvantage that the electric car takes so long to charge but it is most certainly not, the average driver after 270 miles (the range of the 2015 Tesla Model S 85D) will want to stop to rest and stretch, and that can easily be turned into a lunch break which would take the time required to charge the car. One of the many great things about an electric car is the power, it is beyond competitive with a regular gasoline car. In an electric car all of the power is available at 0 RPMs meaning it is there instantly from a standstill where as a regular car
