In the novel, Fahrenheit 451, the author, Ray Bradbury, has exemplified what the society might be in 60+ years. Through the story of the fireman Montag, Bradbury warns us about what a future society might be. The character Beatty, another fireman, states ways in which the society has changed for the worse in the reader's eyes. On page 64, Beatty is having a conversation with Montag about Clarisse McClellan’s family. He first states that he has a record on her family. Beatty is somewhat spying on the family to see if they are hiding any books because of the way Clarisse acts. She questions the society. He then later states, “The home environment can undo a lot you try to do at school. According to Child Care Aware of America, Nearly 11 million children under the age of 5 in America are in some kind of child care every week. Long amounts time in daycare has shown that it causes aggressive behavior and poor social skills in children. In a LiveStrong article they state that, “Children who are in daycare for a year or more have been shown to be more disruptive in class as long as into the sixth grade, according to a New York Times report on the Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development” (Magher). They also said that children are more moody and have more conflict with other students. FamilyFacts.org also presnted the idea that stay-at-home parenting is beneficial. “Mothers whose children spend more time in nonmaternal care are likely to exhibit lower levels of sensitivity and less positive mother–child interactions, regardless of the quality and stability of the child care” (Erickson).
