Let alone, the murder of Medea’s two children. Only someone with no heart could do such a thing, I thought. Medea and her children were eventually banned from the city because of the fear of Medea possibly doing horrible things if she remained there. However, after begging for any kind of mercy, Medea was gifted a day before she had to leave the city for good. Jason abandoned his family to pursue his future with another lady, with no regard of how Medea or his two children would feel. Jason only thought about himself in this situation, as well, without even thinking about the repercussions. Jason felt as if his own goals were bigger than the goals he was supposed to pursue with his family. Throughout the novel, it shows how much Jason’s decision affected everyone else. Jason was not only a husband, but he was a father of two children who depended on him. The collateral damage and trauma he caused for his family is one that is hard for any family to come back from and will always cause pain that no family could ever imagine. After breaking everything down, it is reasonable to say that Jason was the collateral damage to everything that happened in the
