Circus Sideshow (Parade de cirque ) :
Pointillism technique was used in this painting which the whole painting consists of tiny dots of colors .It was drawn from 1887 to 1888 .Its medium is oil on canvas .Its dimensions are 99.7 x 149.9 cm . This painting was the first nocturnal painting of Georges Seurat . He represented a show in a circus in the night time in Paris .

He used vertical lines which gave more length in the painting .Also , he used some horizontal line to define some shapes and used them also in the background . This leaded to balancing in the painting .
2-Shape :
Shape is a two-dimensional composition .He used both organic and geometric shapes . Geometric shapes appear in rectangles in the background and in some objects in the painting .Also ,organic shapes appear in the tree of the left side , hats of audience ,singers, performers of show and in decorative elements in the upper part of the painting .He centered the basic musician and gave him the biggest size to show him but gave a smaller size for audience .A looker to the painting can see more crowd in the down part which audience exist .Using both geometric and organic shapes added a value to the painting , made balance and depicted reality which both shapes actually exist .
3-Space:
Positive and negative spaces:
Positive space is the area contains primary element like the musician in the middle , performers and tree .Negative space is the area around elements which represents the background .Here it is obvious that there is almost equally positive and negative area which makes observer's eye feels reliving
