Religion Hinduism is known as the world’s oldest religion of India and it is considered the dominant religion or "way of life. Within that religion contains many different philosophies, beliefs, and viewpoints and has no founder because it grew out of religious and cultural changes in India. Hindus believe in Brahman as the one true god who is formless, limitless, and eternal. The most remarkable feature of Indian mythology is the coexistence conception of three major gods which they worship. Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Brahma is known as the first god, the creation of Hinduism and Vishnu as the preserver and the Shiva as the destroyer. Vedas The Vedas is the most ancient scriptures of India and is one of the major traditions that shape Hinduism. These writings contain hymns, philosophies, rituals, stories and other writings on which Hindus base their beliefs. There are four Vedas one of which is the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda. The rig Veda is the most important because it is the knowledge of the hymns of praise and it is difficult to read because of the many metaphors and the style that it is written. Before they start any work or tradition they have ceremonies to worship the one god Ganesha and then chant their mantra. Other traditions are dancing, music, costumes, and makeup such as henna and tilak, birth and death ceremonies.
