John Philip Jenkins stated in the article, “John Wayne Gacy Serial Killer”, “ At his trial Gacy’s plea of innocent by reason of insanity was supported by the testimony of several psychologists, who diagnosed him as schizophrenic.” (Jenkins 2023).
