A hero is someone who puts others before themselves. Heroic acts can range from small gestures to saving countless lives. Almost anyone can be a hero. Heroes are known for their outstanding achievements and bravery. Chesley Sullenberger is a hero because he is brave, selfless, and saved the lives of many people.

Heroes are people who put their lives on the line despite the possible unfavorable outcome. Heroes face their fears head on and conquer them.

In the story To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the character Atticus Finch is known town-wide as a hero for his kind-hearted thoughts. In reality Malala Yousafzai is also known as a hero for her work in promotion or girls’ educational rights. Malala is a young adult who has been fighting for girls’ rights to go to school across the world. When Malala was just 15 years old she was targeted by the Taliban because she chose to speak against the Taliban for denying her education; later, that year she was shot in the face.
