Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. From a young age he loved to draw and read many cartoons in the local newspaper. Disney and his brother Roy moved to Hollywood and founded the Disney Brothers Studio in the 1920’s. During this time he created many lovable characters and of course everyone’s favorite, Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney revolutionized animation and cartoon movie making.
Walt Disney 's first successful sound picture, Steamboat Wille featured his well known creation, Mickey Mouse. Mickey was first known as Mortimer and originally introduced in 1928 (Tames 26). "Disney 's last major success that was the motion picture Mary Poppins, which mixed live action and animation"(biography). His legacy has lasted very well over the years. After Disney 's death, his brother Roy, opened and finished the theme park which was named after Walt to be Walt Disney World.
This fortune started when Walt and his brother Roy began making cartoons as a living. Walt and Roy worked many hours in the studio coming up and brainstorming ideas for different cartoons. They failed many times but kept going and eventually came with the cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Minnie. He made cartoons with those characters, and he quickly became famous worldwide. “The invention of such cartoon characters as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie, and Goofy, combined with the clever use of music, sound, and folk material (as in The Three Little Pigs ), made the Disney shorts of the 1930s successful all over the world.
It is here that the brothers began producing various short animated cartoons and developed new characters. One of the character developed is one originally know as Mortimer Mouse who is now known as Mickey Mouse (Hongmei). From there Disney’s company expanded and flourished. To a point where during World War II Disney created educational and training films for agencies and departments of the government. They encouraged Americans to pay taxes to support the war effort.
Mickey Mouse was one these iconic characters that built his company. Mickey soon became popular with his cartoon and his soundtracks. This was sealing the reputation of Disney Production. It was also was making the company stronger.
Walt Disney's first original cartoon character Mickey Mouse, became the face of belief and he was then made into a live animation and action film 5 years later and debuted in the very first sound cartoon "Steamboat Willie. When it came out on November 18, 1928 it was considered Mickey's Birthday. At Disney Studios Walt wanted the best animations possible so he split his artists into teams and did pencil-tests, also known as pencil testing. Walt wanted his artist to have the best education possible as well so he also bought art courses for his artists. Many of the Studios funds came from allowing other compainies to use Mickey Mouse in ads. Soon Walt decided to start doing shorts as a series.

The Walt Disney Company has grown to encompass more than just its own brand by diversifying into live-action film production, television, and theme parks, music, publishing, and online media and operating the ABC broadcast television network.
Walt got the idea of Mickey Mouse from an actual pet mouse he had in Kansas City. Then Disney released Steamboat Willie and it became the most successful sound cartoon. Disney made a contract with Pat Powers at cinephone technology for the sound of Steamboat Willie. Like the New York distributor, Powers hired away all of Disney’s workers, including Iwerks. Walt and Roy got their contract back and made Mickey Mouse the greatest
with five-hundred dollars borrowed from his uncle, Walt and his brother Roy set out on the ultimate adventure, and moved to Southern California to set up the Disney Bros. Studio. In 1928, he created Mickey Mouse, his most personally cherished and beloved character. Walt himself provided the voice for Mickey during the early years, until 1947. Walt also had a great drive to develop new innovations in animation. These innovations helped revolutionize the cartoon world.
Walt Disney is not only the name of the company but the person who started the company decades ago. Walt Disney is one the largest motion picture production companies world-wide. This means Walt Disney produces tons of films, sounds and audio as well. Walt always had a creative mind in arts and camera operations which led him to the creation of “Walt Disney”. The Disney brothers took a risk on moving to another state and created their first character.
Once production was set the people he was working with went behind his back, signed a contract without him and tried taking it from him, (Disney-History). That’s when he decided he was going to create a cartoon named Mickey, where they wouldn 't be able to take it from him. That’s where the cartoons really started to take off. Going through all that hard work and having to recreate something huge created a new path and adventure in his career.

I am not too sure if I want to become a physician without doing many research. I want to be able to do both, be a physician and researcher. Fantasy films often have an element of magic, myth, wonder, escapism, and the extraordinary. They may appeal to both children and adults, depending upon the particular film.
